We are currently seeking a highly skilled and electrically biased Shift Engineer to join our client in Leeds. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth running of the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on machinery and equipment
- Diagnosing and rectifying faults in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Conducting routine inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical systems
- Responding to breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
- Collaborating with other departments to improve equipment performance
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in a similar shift engineer role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and fault finding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Flexibility to work the treble shift pattern (06:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., 14:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., 22:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m.)
We are offering a competitive salary of £41,500 – £44,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
