Shift Engineer

    We are currently seeking a highly skilled and electrically biased Shift Engineer to join our client in Leeds. As a Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth running of the production process.

    Responsibilities:

    • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks on machinery and equipment
    • Diagnosing and rectifying faults in a timely manner to minimize downtime
    • Conducting routine inspections, testing, and servicing of electrical systems
    • Responding to breakdowns and resolving issues efficiently
    • Collaborating with other departments to improve equipment performance
    • Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new equipment
    • Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities
    • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

    Requirements:

    • Minimum qualification of NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
    • Proven experience in a similar shift engineer role within a manufacturing environment
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and fault finding
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
    • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
    • Good communication and teamwork abilities
    • Able to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks accordingly
    • Flexibility to work the treble shift pattern (06:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m., 14:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., 22:00 p.m. to 06:00 a.m.)

    We are offering a competitive salary of £41,500 – £44,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
